The Troop 240 "Hiking Club" has completed it's fourth hike today. In attendance: Michael For., James N., Michael N., Dominic P., Michael S., along with myself and Dino Forzano. We started out on the John Muir Trail in Van Cortlandt Park and inspected yet another Eagle's project, Gil Moss' refurbishment of the trail, which looked in good order. We then headed north on the Old Croton Aqueduct Trail into Yonkers to Tibbetts Brook Park. After lunching in the park, we visited the various water fowl in Tibbetts Brook Lake and then headed south on the South County Trail back to the Bronx. At the border, the trail turned from paved trail to it's original state as the Old Putnam Trail, which is the remains of the Putnam Railroad bed. This took us back into Van Cortlandt Park to just below the lake, where we turned north (hugged a tree) and headed back to the stables.

A great walk, rich with history (and relatively level), weather aside (cold and blustery) a good experience! -- Ellen Beltran, Troop Committee Member, and Hike Guide.
