First and foremost, thanks to all who made donations, and to Carmen Sampayo who organizes this event every year. It would not have been possible without you. A special thank you goes to those who cooked and assisted in the kitchen and with the refreshments: Edna Acquafredda, Eva Stratford, Arelis Lugo, Carmen Sampayo and Scout Michael S. Highlights of the auction were the wonderful baskets put together by Eva Stratford. We had sport baskets, travel baskets, Scout baskets and many others. Other items were spa tickets, show tickets (Regis, Martha Stewart, and dinner theater), many other Regis and Kelly items, including an autographed picture, hotel vacations, Yankee tickets, Bronx Zoo tickets. (We all know who placed a bid there: Our "Snake Master" Erik Z!) There was also a Scout canvas camp bag with every thing but the kitchen sink inside. Scout Darius J. was the successful bidder. There were more that 6 heated bid battles, as was expected, and the whole event was a lot of fun. Financially we outdid last year's auction. The Scouts enjoyed themselves indoors, as well on the basketball court outside. Everyone had a great time. -- James N., Troop Scribe.
